Built to house the many troops who were strategically stationed on rottnest during wwii this complex of dormitories now hosts school groups and island visitors a great place to meet fellow travellers away from the busy village fray. The idea of taking or hiring camping gear didn t appeal so we chose the hostel. Our first time staying over on rottnest. It was simply a room with a set of bunk beds a double bed a bedside table and a mirror plus clean bed linen and towels. Clean comfortable and affordable. By the time our family of four decided to visit rottnest the ballot had finished and our only choices were the rottnest island campground 12 night adult or a family room at the hostel 102 night.

Stayed 1 night in a family room 1 queen bed and a double bunk the room was very small it had a fridge and wardrobe nothing else queen bed was touching the end of the double bunks kitchen was also very small. Doors a bit noisy when closed by other guests but on the whole very quiet for a school holiday.
